Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, a controversial singer, has urged his followers and coworkers to honor him while he is still alive.
This was said by the street performer in response to the popularity that the late rapper Mohbad, who passed away on Tuesday, had gained.
Mohbad’s music and projects received good ratings on digital streaming services both in Nigeria and overseas just before he passed away.
Portable claimed that when Mohbad was alive, his friends and supporters did not support and patronize him enough.
The musician stressed that he doesn’t want “the fake love” to be offered to Mohbad in a video message posted to his Instagram page, saying that he wants to be honored and valued while that he is still alive.
“You guys didn’t post Mohbad on social media when he was alive, but the moment he died, you all started streaming his music and posting his pictures,” Portable said.
“Please remember to appreciate me while I’m still alive.” Make una rejoice the people na. Una dey post terrible news.
“Assist me while I’m still alive.” Encourage me. Thank you very much. Celebrate my life while I’m still here. Please listen to my music, dance to it, and download it. Not after I die, when you’ll start streaming my music.”
