In an interview with newsmen in Gusau, Malam Wadatau Madawaki, the commissioner for education, science, and technology, revealed that the Zamfara State administration is organizing to adopt a new teacher compensation structure.

He claimed that the government’s decision to raise teacher pay was motivated by its commitment to the advancement of education.

“In any society, education is the cornerstone of development; without high-quality education, development will not occur and, even in the event that it does, it will not be as planned,” the speaker stated.

He said that various teacher incentives had been planned by the Dauda Lawal government and would soon go into effect.

In order to encourage many individuals to return to teaching, he continued, “our government plans to introduce a new minimum wage to Zamfara teachers. We will also pay professional allowances to science teachers.”

He said that all state benefits for teachers will be provided to them, including hardship allowances for those working in rural locations.
