Babaji Wusu –

Important voting materials for the upcoming governor’s race in Imo State are now being distributed to all 27 LGAs by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday.

This crucial activity took place at the state capital, Owerri branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria, where INEC supplied ballot papers, result sheets, and Bimodal Voter Accreditation System devices for the election spanning all 27 LGAs.

In a presentation to the media following the disclosure of these private documents, Southeast National Commissioner Kenneth Ukeagu stated that INEC was prepared for the next election in the state.

Ukeagu gave his word that all LGAs will hold their elections according to schedule because security agencies had implemented extensive security measures.

He stressed that he expected a seamless procedure devoid of major problems because of INEC’s careful planning. Ukeagu added that INEC employees had undergone extensive training and were told to conduct themselves professionally when conducting elections.

He asked Imo State’s eligible voters to cast their ballots in huge numbers on Saturday in order to exercise their democratic right and select the governor of their choice.

As the poll is scheduled to take place in every LGA in the state, Ukeagu declared, “We are fully prepared for the election and are currently distributing sensitive materials to all LGAs in the state.” Security services have assured us that there will be sufficient security before, during, and after the election.

“We have carefully planned and arranged everything on our end. To choose their preferred governor, the state’s citizens must turn out on Saturday.
