The case against Godwin Emefiele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for purported procurement fraud has been postponed by a Federal High Court located in Abuja.
The trial will continue on January 18 and 19, 2024, the court announced on Tuesday, November 28.
Emefiele is currently awaiting trial on an upgraded six-count allegation pertaining to purported car purchases totaling N1.6 billion. To the allegations, he entered a not guilty plea.
Until he complies with the N300 million bail requirement and the two sureties required by Judge Hamza Muazu on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, he is being held in remand at the Kuje Correctional Center.
