Three communities in Taraba State’s Bali Local Government Area have reportedly been attacked, killing at least 33 people, including farmers and herders.
According to information obtained, the same local government claimed the lives of 21 people in Garbatau village, 10 in Ganfeto, and 2 in Hawan Mata.
The attackers’ motives were not immediately apparent; however, locals claimed they occurred on Sunday.
It was reported that hundreds of people, including herders, were forced to evacuate to neighboring Adamawa State with their cattle as a result of the assaults.
It was also reported that several cows had been rustled and that over thirty motorcycles that belonged to the deceased had been carried off.
SP Usman Abdullahi, the Taraba police spokesperson, did not answer multiple calls.
