Following the passing of Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the former governor of Anambra State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed his sadness.
At the Federal Medical Centre in Abuja, Ezeife, who was 85 years old, passed away on Thursday at approximately 6 p.m.
In a statement, Tinubu expressed his sympathies to the family of Ezeife and the people of Anambra state for their tragic loss through his Special Advisor, Ajuri Ngelale.
The President urged his loved ones to find comfort in his enduring legacy while pleading for the souls of the departed to rest.
The group decided to launch community outreach initiatives in support of new elections for the two state assembly seats in the region. They asserted that the elections were illegitimate since Wike and Amaewhule defected from the PDP to the APC.
At a media event, Chijioke Ihunwo, the State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, released a statement from the organization denouncing verbal abuse and reported physical altercations with Governor Fubara in October. He asked the police to be impartial and professional throughout the political unrest.
Solomon Abel-Eke, the immediate past chairman of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, stressed the necessity for the locals to back a governor from a different ethnic group in a manner similar to how they supported Nyesom Wike.
The statement read, “President Bola Tinubu sympathizes with the Ezeife family, the people, and the government of Anambra State on the passing of Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, CON, former governor of the state.
“Chief Ezeife, Okwadike of Igbo-Ukwu, was governor of Anambra from 1992 to 1993.
“President Tinubu extols the towering influence of the former federal permanent secretary in Nigeria’s political landscape as well as his leadership credentials, describing his passing as a painful loss.
“The President recalls the contributions the late Chief Ezeife made in the shaping of public discourse and governance in Nigeria, as well as in laying the foundation for the advancement of his dear state.”
