In Niger State, a young man named Stephen Jiya was found guilty of ro@§ting his mother Comfort Jiya to death and condemned to death by hanging.
According to the ruling of Justice Halima Abdulmalik, the Chief Judge of the State, Stephen was found guilty of culpable homicide, punishable by the death penalty under Section 221 of the Penal Code Law.
In December 2021, Stephen was charged with the murder of his mother, a former director of the State Ministry of Education, by the Office of the Attorney General of the Niger State Ministry of Justice.
