Babatunji Wusu –
In support of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, two members of the House of Representatives, Awaji-Inombek Abiante and Boma Goodhead, organized a solidarity march to the Rivers State Government House on Friday.
In the House of Representatives, Goodhead represents the Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency, whereas Abiante represents the Andoni/Opobo/Nkiru Federal Constituency.
A few Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) members joined the MPs, who are all members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The IYC youths marched under the direction of the two federal MPs, starting at the UTC Junction and ending at the State House of Assembly on Moscow Road in Port Harcourt. The march followed Azikiwe Road all the way to Government House.
Speaking to the young people, the legislators declared that the people of the state supported the governor and that they would not permit the former governor of Rivers to harass and degrade Fubara.
The political crisis that shook the state after Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, squared off preceded the march.
