Activities on the nation’s bourse, on Wednesday sustained positive trend for the third consecutive day, with Nestle Nigeria leading the gainers’ chart.

The premier newspaper reports that Nestle garnered N40 to close at N1, 460 per share.

Guaranty Trust Bank followed with a gain of 60k to close at N34.70, while Flour Mills added 45k to close at N19 per share.

Berger Paint advanced by 40k to close at N7.40, while Dangote Flour grew by 30k to close at N6.35 per share.

Consequently, the All-Share Index rose by 48.23 points or 0.16 per cent to close at 30,821.80 compared to 30,773.57 recorded on Tuesday.

In the same vein, the market capitalisation which opened at N11.475 trillion appreciated by N18 billion or 0.16 per cent to close at N11.493 trillion.

Conversely, Dangote Cement recorded the highest loss to lead the losers’ chart, dropping by N1.50 to close at N188 per share.

Custodian and Investment trailed with a loss of 60k to close at N6.20, while Lafarge Africa dipped 25k to close at N12.15 per share.

International Breweries was also down by 25k to close at N30, while May and Baker dropped 11k to close at N2.34 per share.

The volume of shares transacted grew by 88.68 per cent, while value of shares inched by 64.85 per cent.

Specifically, investors bought and sold 359.09 million shares valued at N4. 83 billion traded in 3,319 deals.

This was against a total of 190.32 million shares worth N2.93 billion traded in 3,183 deals on Tuesday.

FBN Holdings was the most active stock during the day, accounting for 88.57 million shares valued at N659.97 million.

Zenith Bank followed with an account of 55.74 million shares worth N1.27 billion, while Japaul Oil traded 36.16 million shares valued at N7.23 million.

GT Bank exchanged 20.88 million shares worth N724.49 million, while Ecobank Transnational sold 17.74 million shares valued at N248.31 million.
