A master’s degree will now be the minimal educational prerequisite for anyone hoping to work as a secondary school teacher in Taraba State, according to the government.
Dr. Agbu Kefas, the state governor, announced this on Sunday, January 7. He also stated that a university first degree will be the required educational background for elementary school instructors.
In an interview with reporters in the state capital of Jalingo, Kefas stated that the time will soon come when primary school instructors no longer need to hold the National Certificate of Education as a prerequisite.
He said, “To improve the quality of education in the state, primary school teachers in the state must hold a first degree, and secondary school instructors must have at least a master’s degree.
This is the major cause of the tuition fee reductions for state university undergraduates. We have to make sure our kids have a bright future.
