BREAKING: SSANU, NASU DECLARE 7-DAY WARNING STRIKE

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) have announced a seven-day warning strike.

The strike was declared to demand the release of four months’ withholding earnings for its members following the 2022 nationwide walkout.

The joint action committee of the two unions reached the decision following a weekend meeting in Akure.

This comes only a week after unions warned of possible disruptions to industrial peace in Nigerian institutions.

The unions stressed the unjust treatment and questioned the government’s rationale for selective payment.
