The House of Representatives has been requested by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to extend the deadline for implementing the capital portion of the 2023 budget from March 31, 2024, to June 30, 2024.

During Wednesday, March 20, plenary, the Speaker, Abbas Tajudeen, read a letter from the President making the request.

Additionally, President Tinubu requested in the letter that the House move up the effective date of the supplemental appropriations act from March 31, 2024, to June 30, 2024.

According to the President, the extension was required to guarantee that the terms of the two acts were carried out in their entirety.
