The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) has begun its meeting at the National Executive Committee (NEC) Hall of the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the BoT; Amb. Umar Damagum, Ag. National Chairman; Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, the party’s National Secretary; Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum; Abba Moro, Senate Minority Leader; and former and sitting governors of the party, among others, are also in attendance.
In his opening remarks, Wabara expressed gratitude to the party and its members for electing him chairman of the BoT.
According to him, the purpose of the gathering was to give the BoT, the party’s conscience, a forum to consider the party’s current situation and offer direction to the organization, its leaders, and its members.
This meeting takes place in the midst of the opposing party’s dilemma.
In the midst of the crisis, Uche Secondus, the party’s previous national chairman, charged on Wednesday that Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was attempting to instigate a crisis in order to gain attention from President Bola Tinubu.
Secondus claims that Wike is exerting a great deal of effort to fabricate a party crisis.
Secondus charged Wike with fabricating an image of a struggle for supremacy between him and Atiku Abubakar.
