Over the weekend, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, the former governor of Kano State, suffered a horrific fire at his rural residence.
on Monday morning showed that Shekarau’s second wife, Halima Shekarau, lost her sitting room when the fire consumed his Mundubawa home.
Though the actual cause of the fire is still unknown, it is thought to have started in the kitchen.
Although they faced challenges, the State Fire Service authorities made heroic efforts to put out the fire. A family source claimed that the inside kitchen was where the fire started.
“We thank God the fire only affected one of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s sitting rooms and already the Fire Service officials are working to quench it,” the source told Daily Post,
Confirming the fire incident, the spokesperson of the State Fire Service said: “We are still at the house and you know I cannot comment on anything now because we are still trying to make sure that the fire didn’t spread to other places.”
