IN KANO, MALE DJS ARE NO LONGER PERMITTED TO SPIN RECORDS AT PARTIES FOR WOMEN.

Male disc jockeys (DJs) are not permitted to perform at gatherings in the state where women predominate, according to the Kano State Hisbah Board.

At a meeting with the state’s DJ representatives, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, the Commander General of the board, made this announcement.

He said that only women will be permitted to preside at women’s meetings going forward and that it became imperative to forbid the mixing of men and women at festivities.

It is intolerable for us to permit the careless mixing of men and women at the same event as an Islamic state. This is due to the act’s potential to spread and encourage immorality,” he stated.
