Today in East London, Daniel Anjorin, a 14-year-old Nigerian kid who was sadly killed in a sword assault, will be laid to rest.
On April 30, the young student was attacked in Hainault, East London, while making her way to school. A samurai sword fatally injured her.
According to BBC sources, Daniel’s funeral service is set for 11 a.m. at Jubilee Church London, and he will be buried at a nearby cemetery after that.
At a vigil held on May 5th in Daniel’s honor, almost 300 individuals showed their solidarity and profound sense of loss.
Daniel was one of four people injured in the incident, including two Metropolitan Police officers, in addition to taking his life.
Gathering to pay their last respects to a life taken far too soon are family and friends.
Metropolitan Police reported on Wednesday that 36-year-old Marcus Arduini Monzo of Newham was charged with Daniel’s murder after the event, in addition to other serious felonies like two counts of attempted murder and aggravated burglary.
Daniel attended the Woodford Green private school run by Bancroft, where Grace O’Malley-Kumar, the victim of the knife assault in Nottingham, is also a student.
During their match against Bournemouth on May 4, Arsenal FC honored Daniel, illustrating the widespread effects of his untimely death.
Daniel’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anjorin, thanked the community in a poignant statement for their financial and emotional assistance during this difficult time.
“In the wake of our son Daniel’s tragic death we wish to thank you for your support which has been a source of comfort and strength to our family,” the Anjorin family stated.
They also mentioned plans to use the donations received for establishing a new family home, aiming to provide a fresh start for Daniel’s siblings who are profoundly affected by the tragedy.
