A 17-year-old chef, Philip Emmanuel, has confessed to the brutal murder of his employer, Mrs. Adene Iyabode Deborah, in Ondo State. Emmanuel was paraded at the Ondo Police Headquarters, where he detailed his involvement in the crime.
According to Emmanuel, he conspired with his boss’s driver, Precious, to carry out the murder. The crime took place inside Mrs. Deborah’s apartment, where she was attacked and stabbed multiple times by her employees.
In his confession, Emmanuel revealed: “I am here because I killed my madam. I had worked for her as her cook for five months. Recently, she hired a new driver who had only been with her for two weeks. One day, the driver told me that N150,000 had just been deposited into madam’s account. He suggested that we kill her and steal the money. I admitted that I had never killed anyone before.”
After the murder, Emmanuel said that the driver checked the account and discovered only N60,000. The driver then gave Emmanuel N30,000, and he went to Idanre. Four days later, they learned that Mrs. Deborah had died.
The case is currently under investigation as authorities work to bring all those involved to justice.
