“Can You Really Trust APC to Be Your Safe Haven After Taking Down PDP? – Nnaji’s Bold Question to Wike”

Ray Nnaji, the former National Auditor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has sharply criticized the ongoing turmoil within the Rivers State chapter of the party. Speaking with Daily Post, Nnaji took aim at Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, accusing him of playing a double game. According to Nnaji, Wike’s real objective is not to straddle both the PDP and All Progressives Congress (APC) but to seize control of Rivers State as the 2027 election approaches.

Nnaji expressed confusion over the recent establishment of a reconciliation committee, questioning whether it was meant to mediate between Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He expressed skepticism about whether reconciling with Wike would truly benefit the PDP, noting that there’s no guarantee that a successful dismantling of the PDP by Wike would make the APC a welcoming haven for him.

Nnaji remarked, “I’m not clear on who they’re trying to reconcile with—Wike or the Governor? From what I see, the government seems reluctant to accommodate Wike’s demands. If Wike is given control, it would turn the governor into Wike’s subordinate. That’s not what the governor wants; he should be leading the party in the state, not following Wike’s lead.”

He went on to highlight the potential consequences of Wike’s actions, noting that while Wike might have his own faction and agenda, the future stability of the PDP and the APC is uncertain. “Wike was not involved in the founding of the PDP, yet he’s benefited greatly from it. It’s troubling to see him now trying to undermine the very party that has served him well. If he succeeds in destroying the PDP, who’s to say that the APC will be a better fit for him? It seems he’s more focused on his personal interests rather than the party’s future.”

Nnaji concluded with a call for the PDP to unite and strengthen itself in preparation for the 2027 elections.
