Mr. Kelly Ogbaloi, Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State, has asserted that the party would have won the governorship election if it had been conducted fairly.

In a recent interview in Benin, Ogbaloi claimed that the election was plagued by serious irregularities, including rampant vote-buying, which went unchecked by security agencies. He stated, “Labour Party won the election but was not allowed to take possession,” emphasizing that manipulation of results severely impacted the outcome.

When asked about a potential legal challenge to the results, Ogbaloi mentioned that the party has yet to convene a state council meeting to discuss its position. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Senator Monday Okpebholo of the APC as the election winner on September 22.
