Asue Ighodalo, the 2024 governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has vowed to never abandon his supporters following what he called the “darkest day” in the state’s political history during the September 21 election.

In a video message, Ighodalo expressed gratitude to his supporters for their dedication and enthusiasm, stating that their efforts were evident in the ballots before the election was marred by what he termed “brazen theft of the mandate.” He emphasized the importance of unity and resilience, asserting, “Our journey towards a prosperous Edo state does not end here. It is just beginning.” He reassured his supporters that, despite the challenges ahead, he remains committed to their cause and will continue to fight for their shared vision.

In a follow-up statement on his X account, Ighodalo thanked the people of Edo for their unwavering support, acknowledging the difficulties they faced in the election. He reaffirmed that the struggle to recover their mandate and build a prosperous future for the state continues.
