“NAF Strikes Back: Terrorists’ Logistics Base Destroyed in Kaduna”

A recent operation by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) resulted in the successful clearance of a terrorist logistics base in the Yadi Forest, located in Kaduna State’s Giwa local government area. This action took place on Friday, September 27, 2024, following credible intelligence regarding the substantial presence of terrorists and their weapons in the area.

In a statement released over the weekend, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, detailed the extensive intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance efforts that confirmed the terrorists’ presence, including their motorcycles. He noted that the logistics base was identified as belonging to the notorious terrorist leader Kadade Gurgu, an associate of Dogo Gide. Ali remarked, “Intelligence available to the NAF Air Component indicated that Kadade Gurgu has been offering refuge to various notorious terrorist leaders due to intensified military operations in Sokoto and Zamfara States.”

The Air Component deployed an aircraft, supported by an Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, to carry out the strike. Initially, the target area appeared deserted; however, as the aircraft approached, several terrorists were spotted emerging from the underbrush and fleeing. The strike was executed successfully, engulfing the logistics facility in flames and producing thick black smoke.

Independent sources, including local informants, later confirmed that the logistics base had been completely destroyed and that numerous terrorists had been neutralized during the operation. Ali emphasized that the NAF, in collaboration with ground forces, would continue to maintain control over the operational environment by ensuring comprehensive situational awareness, conducting regular patrols, and executing precise strikes against terrorist havens in the region.

The operation aims to significantly diminish and ultimately eradicate terrorism and criminal activities in the North-West and North-Central regions of Nigeria.
