On October 2, the Senate swiftly passed both the first and second readings of a bill to establish the Federal University of Agriculture and Tropical Studies in Iragbiji, Osun State. Sponsored by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele (APC – Ekiti Central), the bill aims to provide comprehensive management for the proposed institution.
During the session, Bamidele highlighted the university’s potential to enhance agricultural education and advance tropical studies in Nigeria. Senator Olarere Oyewunmi supported the bill, emphasizing its importance for national development, particularly in agriculture.
