Barcelona is optimistic about returning to its iconic Camp Nou stadium, currently undergoing modernization and expansion, “by the end of the year,” according to club spokesperson Elena Fort.

During a press conference on Monday, officials presented the construction roadmap, stating that the club is “actively working” toward resuming play at the Camp Nou with an initial capacity of 62,000 seats, rather than the full 105,000 planned for the project’s completion.

The renovation project, known as “Espai Barca,” is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2026, at which point the stadium’s roof will also be installed.

In the coming days, fans will have the opportunity to register for a six-month partial season ticket for the second half of the campaign.

Construction on the Camp Nou began in June 2023 but faced delays due to permit complications and complaints regarding working conditions. Consequently, Barcelona has requested an extension of its contract to use the Montjuic Olympic Stadium until March 31, 2025, as a precautionary measure.
