In Abuja’s Sabon Lugbe area, at least 40 people are trapped under the rubble of a building that collapsed early Saturday morning. Emergency responders and concerned citizens are on-site, urgently working to rescue those caught beneath the debris.

The structure, reportedly under construction, collapsed unexpectedly, leading to immediate calls for intervention from government agencies and rescue teams. Eyewitnesses expressed the need for more support to facilitate the rescue operations.

“This is a building under construction. We are calling on the government and relevant agencies to help rescue those trapped here,” stated one witness.

This incident follows a recent building collapse in Abuja’s Kubwa area, where four people were rescued from a two-storey structure, with an uncertain number initially believed to be trapped.
