The Biafra Republic Government in Exile, led by Simon Ekpa, has voiced its outrage over the police shooting of popular Ogene musician Igbo Jah by an operative from the Anti-Cult Unit of the Enugu State Police Command on Friday.
The incident sparked widespread protests among youths in Enugu State, leading to calls for justice. In response, Ekpa declared a lockdown for Enugu State on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, to hunt down the musician’s killers.
He emphasized the urgent need to stop the ongoing violence against the Igbo community, stating, “This day will be dedicated to finding the perpetrators. Enough is enough.”
The murder has drawn condemnation from residents across Enugu and beyond, including Governor Peter Mbah. The police confirmed that the officer involved has been identified and detained.
