Babatunji Wusu –
On Monday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, conducted training for 55 personnel from nine private security companies, including A. Kolo Security Guard LTD, Ampu Security Guard LTD, and Silver Guard Security LTD, among others.
The training was organized by the NSCDC’s Private Guards Companies department. State Commandant Gyama Gyawiya emphasized the need for professionalism within the private security sector. He urged the trainees to uphold high standards of discipline and ethics, stating, “Your actions reflect not only on yourselves but also on the industry. Respect for human rights is paramount.”
Gyawiya reminded participants that the NSCDC is tasked with licensing, monitoring, and supervising private guard companies in Nigeria, as outlined in the NSCDC Acts of 2003 and 2007. He congratulated the trainees on becoming ambassadors of the private security industry and advised them to “embody excellence, loyalty, and commitment.”
This training initiative is part of the NSCDC’s ongoing efforts to enhance professionalism and standards in the private security sector. The commandant noted that previous initiatives include the licensing of 30 private guard companies to assist in combatting criminal activities.
