Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered an immediate and indefinite suspension of all revenue collections across the state, particularly at motor parks. This directive, issued Wednesday through his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, also mandates the state’s Commissioner of Police to arrest anyone violating the order.
In the statement, Okpebholo emphasized, “No one is authorized to collect revenue on behalf of the state government until further notice.” He added that the current approach to revenue collection is under review, with new guidelines expected soon.
