Manchester United are set to hijack Manchester City’s move for Ruben Neves, according to reports.
City have been linked with a move for Neves during the last days of the summer transfer window, but a move did not materialise as Wolves were reluctant to allow the midfielder leave as the transfer window was set to close in England.
Reports in the Goal claim that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is keen on bringing Neves to Etihad stadium after missing out on Jorginho to Chelsea and believes he can get his man during the January transfer window.
Wolves are said to have set a price tag of 60 million pounds for Ruben Neves, in order to fend off other clubs but Manchester United are understood to have joined the race and might as well sign the midfielder ahead of their city rivals.
Jorge Mendes who acts as Jose Mourinho and Ruben Neves could be the a major booster for United in the race, as Mourinho continues to look for the final missing jigsaw in his squad, following their poor start to the Premier League season.
Guardiola, on the other hand will hope that he will be able to convince Ruben Neves to chose Manchester City ahead of United ahead of the January transfer window.
