- The criticism follows a re-designation of roles within President Tinubu’s media team, as announced by Bayo Onanuga.
Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has criticized Daniel Bwala’s new designation as Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu. Shaibu dismissed Bwala’s role, calling him Tinubu’s Special Adviser on “nothing.”
In a post on X, Shaibu questioned what policies Bwala would be communicating, given that he believes the Tinubu administration lacks clear policies. He further mocked the appointment, sharing a comment by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, who had earlier announced the changes within the presidential media team.
Shaibu’s comments highlight growing skepticism around the administration’s communication strategies, particularly regarding the new appointments. Onanuga also revealed that Sunday Dare, previously the Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, was re-designated as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.
