Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello and two co-defendants faced 16-count criminal charges before Justice Maryann Anenih, vehemently denying allegations of fraud, including the misappropriation of N110 billion for personal gain.

As the charges were read by the Court Registrar, Bello firmly rejected each accusation. Meanwhile, co-defendants Umar Shoaib Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, who had previously secured administrative bail from the EFCC, joined the ex-governor in court for the first time.

At the time of this report, the courtroom braced for heated arguments as the fight for bail was set to begin.
