The Youth Earnestly Support Soludo (YESS) group has launched its distribution of rice to Anambra youths in celebration of Christmas and the New Year. The event, flagged off by Dr. Obinna Nelson Omenugha, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Empowerment, aims to support youths across the state’s 21 local government areas. This initiative follows the 5th edition of the YESS Carol of Nine Lessons, held at the International Conversation Center in Awka.

Dr. Omenugha thanked Governor Soludo for adhering to the APGA motto of being a “brother’s keeper” and explained that the palliative would go to youths committed to Governor Soludo’s vision of transforming Anambra into a livable and prosperous state. He emphasized that the group consists of young individuals who support Governor Soludo and are praying for his continued success.

Looking ahead to the 2025 elections, Omenugha revealed that YESS is fully prepared to help secure a second term for Governor Soludo, aiming for a 21/21 victory across the local governments in the November 8th, 2025 election.

The event also featured the YESS Carol, an annual tradition since 2019, designed to end the year on a high note and lift the spirits of members, particularly given the challenges faced by Nigerians in 2024. Omenugha described the carol as a means to bring together leadership from different wards and local governments, celebrating the dedication of members and thanking those who have invested their time, resources, and talents into the group’s success.

Dr. Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, also attended, noting that the occasion was a unifying event for Anambra youths, with the carol offering an opportunity to come together in song and celebration. The event was attended by various political figures and members of the community, including Hon. Ebuka Igwe, member of the Anambra House of Assembly, and Hon. Onyebuchi Obi Charles, Vice Chairman of Onitsha South Council Area.
