Born in Kaduna and hailing from Odo-Otin Local Government Area, Osun, Balogun’s journey began in 2002 when she joined the NCS as a Customs Assistant and served as a cabin crew member in the Service’s Airwing Unit.

In a recent interview, Balogun shared the challenges and rewards of her path, noting that her decision to stay in the NCS, despite many colleagues opting for higher-paying jobs in the airline industry, was driven by her unwavering ambition to serve in public service and fulfill her dream of becoming a pilot.

Her career progression includes obtaining an Advanced Diploma in Air Ticketing and Cabin Services, a Master’s in Public Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, and, most notably, earning her Pilot Certification from a Flying Academy in Miami, Florida, with sponsorship from the NCS. Balogun’s achievement as the first female pilot in the NCS Airwing has not only set a precedent but also serves as an inspiration for other women, both within the NCS and beyond.

In her own words, Balogun emphasized the importance of breaking barriers and pursuing one’s dreams. “My role as the first female pilot in the Service reflects my commitment to advancing my dream and contributing to the operational success of the NCS,” she said.

The Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, commended her dedication, stating that Balogun’s achievement is a testament to the NCS’s commitment to building capacity and fostering innovation.
