Ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s presentation of the 2025 budget to the National Assembly, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has assured that lawmakers are prepared to intervene and assist in the country’s development. While addressing the executive members of the Zaria Educational and Development Association (ZEDA) in Zaria, Abbas emphasized the importance of the upcoming budget and encouraged ZEDA to outline their needs and priorities, stating, “We are ready to intervene and assist where we can.”

Abbas also announced the establishment of four new educational institutions in Zaria: a Federal College of Education, a College of Health Sciences, a National Open University campus, and a College of Legal Studies. These institutions are aimed at enhancing Zaria’s educational infrastructure and providing critical resources to the region. Furthermore, 116 primary and secondary schools are undergoing renovation, with plans for additional upgrades.

Highlighting Zaria’s historical significance as an educational hub, Abbas expressed his commitment to making the region a center of educational excellence. He also inspected ongoing projects funded by the 2023 supplementary budget and the 2024 budget, including school renovations, hospital constructions, road networks, and market development, all of which address key aspects of public welfare.
