Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic stampedes in various parts of Nigeria, which have resulted in significant loss of life and numerous injuries. In a statement released on Saturday, Atiku described the news of the deaths as heartbreaking, particularly as the incidents occurred in Okija, Anambra, and Abuja, only days after a similar tragedy in Ibadan, Oyo State, which claimed the lives of nearly three dozen children.

Atiku extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and offered his solidarity with the governments and people of the affected regions. He also expressed his sympathies to the Catholic Church, particularly to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Maitama, Abuja.

In addition to his emotional response, Atiku emphasized the critical importance of crowd management at large events. He urged organizers to prioritize the safety and well-being of participants, ensuring such tragedies do not occur in the future.
