Ninos Khouri, the Swedish rapper known as Gaboro, was tragically shot dead on Thursday night in a multi-storey car park in Norrköping, a city southwest of Stockholm. According to Swedish police, the 24-year-old succumbed to his injuries after the shooting, which took place near a parking garage. Police are investigating the suspected murder and have called for witnesses, particularly those who may have seen a silver station wagon that could be connected to the crime.
A video of the shooting, purportedly filmed by the assailant, quickly circulated online, showing a man being shot while fleeing in the car park. Although Swedish authorities have not confirmed the video’s link to the incident, they have indicated it is of interest to the investigation.
Khouri had achieved significant success, particularly in 2022, when his song Browski went viral on TikTok, leading to a full-length album and over 100 million streams on Spotify. He was known for his signature look, always wearing a balaclava and sunglasses to obscure his identity.
Tributes have poured in from fellow artists, including Swedish DJ Alan Max and rapper Imenella, who expressed their sorrow on social media.
This marks the second Swedish rapper to be killed in 2024, following the June murder of C.Gambino (Karar Ramadan) and the 2021 gang-related killing of Einar. Khouri had previously been convicted of minor drug offenses, and local reports have linked him to a criminal gang, though police have not confirmed this connection in relation to the shooting.
