  • Odili’s Legacy Praised Amid Minister’s Showmanship Criticism
  • Group Appeals for Unity in Rivers State Development

Kinsmen of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, have appealed to former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, to forgive Wike for his recent controversial comments.

Wike, in a recent statement, claimed credit for revitalizing Odili’s family, asserting that Odili lacked grounds to criticize him. This came after Odili accused Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, of preventing one individual from monopolizing state resources.

In response, the Initiative for Transparent Strategy and Good Leadership, led by Chizy Enyi, condemned Wike’s comments, describing them as disrespectful and unnecessary. Enyi highlighted Wike’s contradictory behavior, noting that he had once praised Odili as pivotal to his political rise.

Enyi also criticized Wike’s frequent involvement in Rivers State matters despite his ministerial role, stating that it disrupts the state’s development. He urged Odili to overlook the insults and emphasized the group’s respect for the former governor’s legacy.

On behalf of Rivers people, Enyi apologized to Odili and his family, appealing for reconciliation and understanding.
