National Assembly Clerk Pledges Reforms in Welfare, Infrastructure
The Clerk to the National Assembly, Mr. Kamoru Ogunlana, Esq., has reaffirmed his commitment to key legislative reforms, including amending the National Assembly Service Act and establishing the National Assembly Pension Board.
In a statement signed by the Director of Information, Mr. Bullah Audu Bi-Allah, Ogunlana emphasized these reforms as part of broader efforts to enhance the efficiency of the parliamentary bureaucracy. Speaking at his inaugural meeting with top management officials, he stressed the need to prioritize staff welfare, recognizing its impact on productivity.
Ogunlana also pledged to build on his predecessor’s infrastructural projects while addressing security challenges within the Assembly. Commending the leadership for maintaining efficiency, he urged continued collaboration to uphold the National Assembly’s status as Africa’s largest and most dynamic parliament.
“The future of our institution depends on our shared commitment to progress and excellence. Together, we must uphold the ideals of professionalism, accountability, and service to Nigerians,” Ogunlana stated.
