Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been inaugurated as the governor of Ondo State, officially beginning his first full four-year term. This follows the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in December 2023, making Aiyedatiwa the state’s new leader.
The inauguration ceremony is taking place at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital. It comes two months after Aiyedatiwa secured his position through a victorious election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
At approximately 12:59 pm, Aiyedatiwa took his oath of office, following his running mate, Olayide Adelami. The governor then proceeded to ride in an open van around the complex, waving to a crowd of excited supporters.
Governor Aiyedatiwa is now addressing the attendees, setting the tone for his leadership as the new governor of Ondo State.
