Peterside Rejoice EnekyIn response to growing security threats in parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, has led an operational assessment of crime-prone areas, including Guzape-Asokoro Bypass, Kpaduma, Kugbo, Gbaglape, and Nyanya Hills.
The visit, which took place on March 8, 2025, followed a series of kidnapping and criminal incidents in the region. CP Disu, accompanied by senior police officers and local vigilante groups, evaluated security vulnerabilities, identified criminal hideouts, and engaged with community leaders to develop proactive intervention strategies.
According to CP Disu, the difficult terrain in some of these areas has made them attractive to criminal elements. However, he assured residents that the Police Command is determined to neutralize these threats.
These criminals exploit isolated and hilly areas like Guzape to carry out their activities, but we are taking decisive steps to ensure they do not thrive,” he said. “We will intensify patrols, enhance surveillance, and put in place measures that will permanently deter criminal activities.”
As part of the renewed security approach, the FCT Police Command has pledged to deploy more tactical teams, increase intelligence-led operations, and strengthen its partnership with local communities to improve emergency response time.
Residents have been urged to cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities through designated emergency hotlines: 08032003913, 08028940883, 07057337653. Complaints can also be lodged via the Complaint Response Unit at 08107314192.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents across the territory.
