Presidential Aide Aliyu Audu Resigns

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, Aliyu Audu, has officially resigned from his position.

In a one-page resignation letter dated June 8, 2025, and routed through the Chief of Staff to the President, Audu tendered his resignation with immediate effect, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve.

“I write to formally tender my resignation… effective immediately. I thank the President for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership,” the letter read.

Audu also acknowledged Ajuri Ngelale, former presidential spokesperson, for recommending him for the role which he assumed on August 26, 2023. He described his tenure as an honour and a chance to contribute to the administration’s public communication efforts.

“Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem and continued prayers for the success of your leadership and the progress of our beloved nation,” he concluded.

As of press time, the Presidency has not issued an official response to his resignation.
