…Man United, Juventus, Saudi clubs, others line up for Super Eagles midfielder
…Ndidi eyes Premier League exit following Leicester relegation
Bayer Leverkusen have become the latest club to show strong interest in Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, as transfer activity around the Nigerian intensifies.
Ndidi, 28, is eager to leave Leicester this summer after the Foxes’ drop from the Premier League. Despite signing a three-year contract just last year, he is reportedly ready for a new challenge and has a £9 million release clause that has alerted top clubs across Europe and the Middle East.
According to respected transfer analyst Ben Jacobs, Manchester United have already opened talks with Ndidi’s representatives. Premier League rivals Everton and two unnamed English clubs have also submitted early approaches for the Super Eagles star.
Interest isn’t limited to England. Spanish side Real Betis, Italian giants Juventus, and a number of Saudi Arabian clubs are closely monitoring the situation, with some already initiating contact.
Ndidi joined Leicester City from Genk in January 2017 and has been a key part of the team’s midfield for over seven years. A fan favorite for his work rate and defensive discipline, he was instrumental during Leicester’s FA Cup triumph and European runs.
With his contract clause considered modest by modern transfer standards, a bidding war could soon unfold as clubs attempt to lure the Nigerian international before the window closes.
