…Engineers assess aircraft as airline apologises for delays, reschedules trips

Air Peace has temporarily disrupted its flight operations after one of its planes suffered a bird strike, forcing an emergency return shortly after takeoff on Thursday morning.

In an official statement, the airline said Flight P47100, which was heading from Lagos to Enugu, encountered the bird strike moments after departure. As a safety precaution, the aircraft made an emergency return to base, allowing engineers to carry out a thorough inspection.

The incident triggered a ripple effect across Air Peace’s flight network, leading to delays and rescheduling of several trips.

“Our engineers needed to perform a comprehensive safety assessment of the aircraft,” the statement read. “The decision to return was entirely precautionary, in line with our strict safety protocols.”

The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience the disruption has caused passengers, adding that efforts were being made to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.

“We sincerely empathise with our passengers over the inconvenience caused and appeal for your patience and understanding as we work diligently to minimise disruptions,” the airline stated.

Affected passengers were advised to stay updated through official communication channels for rescheduled flight times and further announcements.
