…Rashford among players at risk due to financial constraints

…Laporta insists club will meet registration requirements before season starts

Six Barcelona players are currently at risk of missing out on registration ahead of the new LaLiga season, amid the club’s lingering financial challenges, Spanish outlet SPORT reports.

Among them is Marcus Rashford, who joined the Catalan giants this summer on a season-long loan from Manchester United. Despite the high-profile move, Rashford’s LaLiga debut could be delayed if the club fails to meet league registration requirements.

Barcelona has struggled with player registration in recent seasons due to Financial Fair Play restrictions. Last season, similar issues plagued signings like Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who were initially granted temporary licenses that were later revoked by LaLiga during the January transfer window.

Despite the uncertainty, club president Joan Laporta remains optimistic.
“It’s progressing well,” Laporta told ESPN. “We’re doing our job and we’re confident that we’ll be able to register everyone.”

The situation places further pressure on Barcelona’s board to stabilise its financial operations before the league commences, or risk entering the new season without key players.
