Ondo Govt Names New Management to Revive Relegated Sunshine Stars, Oversee Sunshine Queens’ NWFL Return

The Ondo State Government has named a five-member management committee to steer the affairs of Nigeria National League (NNL) club Sunshine Stars following their relegation last season.

The team will be led by Divine Ogbonnaya, appointed as General Manager, alongside Segun Joseph, Awosakin Iloyomade, Iyabo Ajanaku, and Dapo Ajibade.

The committee’s mandate extends beyond Sunshine Stars to include the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side Sunshine Queens, who are making a comeback to the elite league for the 2025–26 season, as well as the Sunshine Stars Under-19 team.

The state government expressed confidence that the new leadership will restore the club’s glory and strengthen its grassroots football structure.
