  • Diversion runs from Friday, Aug. 15, to Sunday, Aug. 17.
  • Counterflow arrangement to be implemented along Osborne/Alfred Rewane Road.
  • Alternative routes provided via Oba Adeyemi Oyekan Avenue, Glover, Lugard, and Cameron Roads.

The Lagos State Government has announced a two-day traffic diversion around Osborne Road in Ikoyi, Eti-Osa Local Government, to facilitate drainage connection works from Modupe Alakija Crescent to the median drains on Osborne Road.

Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said in a statement on Tuesday that the construction, involving the installation of a cross culvert, will require cutting a section of Osborne Road near Foreshore Towers. The work will commence at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, and conclude by midnight on Sunday, August 17.

To minimise disruption, a counterflow system will be in place along a 100-meter stretch of Osborne/Alfred Rewane Road, from Modupe Alakija Crescent to the Alfred Rewane junction. Motorists heading from Alfred Rewane to Osborne will be diverted into a contraflow lane before rejoining their regular route, while those inbound Alfred Rewane from Osborne will be restricted to one lane.

Alternative routes have been advised: motorists from Osborne towards Alfred Rewane should use Oba Adeyemi Oyekan Avenue to connect Glover Road, Lugard Avenue, or Cameron Road, and vice versa. The road will fully reopen to traffic on Monday, August 18, with LASTMA managing movements to reduce inconvenience.
