Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr, has declared that she no longer feels the need to prove herself to anyone in the music industry.

The Sabi Girl hitmaker, whose real name is Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, revealed in a recent interview with BBC Radio 1xtra, London, that her focus has shifted to creating music that satisfies her own artistic desires.

“I’m in a very comfortable place where I don’t see the need to prove myself to anybody other than myself,” she said.

Ayra Starr explained that her new outlook inspired the release of her latest single, Hot Body. According to her, the track reflects her current confidence and state of mind.

“I released my song Hot Body because I feel like this is the right time. I’m in the right headspace. I feel good. Right now, my body is better than I have ever felt,” she added.

The singer emphasized that the song was not just released for its catchy sound but as a true expression of how empowered she feels in this phase of her career.
