Nigeria’s Super Eagles have departed for South Africa ahead of their crunch 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Bafana Bafana.
The team, comprising 22 players, technical crew, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials, and members of the supporters’ club, flew aboard a ValueJet Airline on Sunday.
However, the squad will be without star striker Victor Osimhen, who has been sidelined by an injury sustained in the first half of Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Rwanda in Uyo on Saturday.
The showdown against South Africa is billed for Tuesday at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. Nigerian time. The encounter is expected to be a fiery contest as both nations jostle for vital points on matchday eight.
