Nigerian singer Terry Apala has stirred controversy after declaring that he would never allow his partner to attend a public gym.
The Apala Disco crooner made the claim during an interview with Echo Room hosted by reality star Teddy A, alleging that many women frequent gyms not for fitness but for attention.
“I will not allow my partner to go to the gym. I was a member of iFitness VGC, so I’ve been there. I saw what was going down,” he said. “Ladies nowadays are just vibing, making videos, and seducing men instead of working out.”
Terry stressed that his stance comes from personal encounters. He recalled his time at gyms in VGC and Megamound Estate, insisting that only a small fraction of women are serious about exercise, while most “are just there to have fun.”
His remarks have since ignited reactions online, with many debating whether his position reflects reality or a biased perspective.
