The family of veteran singer, Uche Ibeto, popularly known as the Jigida Queen, has dismissed her claims of being thrown out of her late mother’s house in Lagos, insisting the property was lawfully sold.

In a statement signed by the Administrator of the Estate of the late Mrs. Esther Ibeto, the family described the singer’s allegations as “spurious, malicious, and utterly misleading.”

They stressed that Uche, the third child of the late Esther Ibeto, has no authority over the estate and cannot lay sole claim to the property.

“Ms. Uche Ibeto is not the Administrator of the Estate and has absolutely no legal right, title, or authority to make unilateral claims over the property,” the family said. “Her actions amount to a deliberate usurpation of the powers of the Administrator and are unlawful.”

The statement further clarified that the property in question had been duly sold, and the buyer had since taken lawful possession.

The family also dismissed any suggestions of forgery or illegality in the sale, maintaining that Uche’s narrative was an attempt to mislead the public and undermine the lawful administration of her late mother’s estate.
