The political atmosphere in the North Central region took a new turn on Wednesday as the North Central Youth Coalition for Asiwaju (NCYCA 2027) formally inaugurated its campaign structure to mobilize support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Speaking at the coalition’s inaugural press conference, the National Coordinator, James Iorkusah, said the group represents the collective voice of the North Central youths who have resolved to stand firmly behind President Tinubu in recognition of his “bold economic reforms and visible developmental strides” across Nigeria.
“We are gathered today to pledge our unalloyed support to our dear President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR,” Iorkusah declared. “He has turned the country into a construction site awarding roads, bridges, flyovers, and housing projects across the North Central and beyond.”
The group noted that the North Central geopolitical zone historically a decisive force in Nigeria’s politics commands about 16 million registered voters, representing over 16 percent of the national voter population. This, Iorkusah emphasized, makes the region “a vital bloc that no presidential election can be won without.”
He attributed the coalition’s decision to back Tinubu to the administration’s bold economic policies, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of foreign exchange rates, which he said have opened up resources for infrastructure, security, agriculture, and social investments.
“For the first time in recent years, federal, state, and local governments are sharing trillions in allocations,” he added. “President Tinubu deserves our full support to continue beyond 2027.”
The NCYCA announced plans to embark on a region-wide mobilization drive, building alliances with youth groups across the North Central and extending outreach to the South-South region.
“We shall not retreat, nor surrender until our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, is re-elected in 2027,” Iorkusah vowed.
The coalition described itself as a youth-driven platform dedicated to promoting national unity, good governance, and continuity of development projects under the Tinubu administration.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Long live President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR,
Long live the North Central Youth Coalition for Asiwaju (NCYCA 2027).
